Brazil’s Great Motor Racing Drivers
In addition to some of the greatest soccer players the world has ever seen, Brazil has produced a number of gifted racing drivers. One of the best was Ayrton Senna (1960-1994), who won three world championships. His rivalry with team mate, the French Alain Prost, was riveting to their fans. In 1994, Senna was brutally cut down in his prime in a crash at Imola race track during the San Marino Grand Prix. He was leading the race at the time of the crash. His nephew, and son of the late Flavio Lalli, Bruno Senna, began following in his footsteps in the 2010 Grand Prix season.
