How To Begin The Suppression Of Bedbugs
Are there bedbugs in your house? If there are, you may want to hire an exterminator to kill them for you. But if you prefer to do it on your own, be ready to repeat a lot of actions to make sure you get rid of all the bugs and their eggs.
All infested items and areas of your house must be identified as soon as possible. Look high and low for signs of bedbugs, and make sure you don’t miss even the slightest detail. Check the furniture, mattress, tours, tables, etc. Don’t overlook anything!
And yes, you have to be very thorough. Even a crack in the molding can be home to a dozen bedbugs.
Next comes the scrubbing and vacuuming. Every infested surface should be scrubbed thoroughly to get any embedded eggs out. Then you use the vacuum to suck up the eggs. After doing this, seal up the vacuum bag inside of another bag or container and get it very far from your home.
Infected clothes and bed sheets should be washed in extremely hot water to eradicate all the insects. Any other infected item should be sprayed with pesticides that are approved for such methods of application.
But remember this: pesticides are poisonous not only to bedbugs but to you as well. Be careful not to breathe in or ingest anything. You could get really sick.
Then it is time to target the bedbugs that have managed to dig their way so deep into your mattress that you can’t get them out. Get rid of these by sealing a mattress and that of a mattress cover; make sure there are no holes or other means for the bedbugs to get out.
Any bug left inside the mattress will die six months to a year after being Sealed inside they will not be able to eat and will essentially starve to death. Always check your home for signs of bedbugs afterwards, to make sure that they are permanently gone.
