What Does The Future Hold In Store For The Ravens
This will be the season that the Ravens will make their way into the playoff picture. Oh wait wrong fortune cookie, 2010 will be the year that the fans will want to make sure that they forget down the road. There are a lot of things that can be said about the team, calling them a winner would be an overstretch when it comes to this season. The team is poised to do nothing remarkable and memorable.
The NFL draft is a classic example of a team going nowhere fast. After what they did by trading their first round picks, this lead a lot of people to question the sanity of the team, and the teams management. It is in a rare case that a team will give away their first round draft pick, the only reason this would happen is if there was a huge player that they were getting in return. This was not the case as they got nothing in exchange except a lot of people shaking their heads.
When it comes to the passing game all the players and fans will say Joe Flaco’s name, this is supposed to comfort me and make me feel that the team will be all right as long as Joe Flaco is on the case. This is a silly thing to think, and for this reason the fans need to demand a new quarterback. There has to be a team that they can get a quarterback from that will be willing to play for them, after all do we know if Jay Cutler is tired of Chicago?
Now how can the team go wrong when it comes to the running game, the way that this can get worse is if the team hired a rabid badger to be their running back. There is absolutely no running game in place that will be of an effective use to the team. There will be a tight contest as to who will get the nod as the starting player, I say give it to the Badger.
The strength of the schedule will be the one area that the team will have a fighting chance to make an impressive run at the win column. There are several games that will allow them to show the strength of their defense. The defense that the team has will lead them to be an impressive unit when they take to the field in the fall.
Speaking of defense, there are several teams that will dread playing the Ravens this season. They know that what faces them this season will be yet another season of the Ray Lewis machine that will place a large amount of pain on his opponents.
Regardless of what you may thing about this team, there are a few places that the Ravens can be hopeful when it comes to making the most out of a bad situation. The team is able to be a decent team and master their schedule and win if they are able to get their act together and actually win games for a change.
